Anees’ School celebrates Baisakhi

A unique play on sustainable agriculture was staged during Baisakhi celebrations held at Anees School today.

Students of class VI, VII and VIII put across message of the disaster over use of pesticides and fertilizers were causing to the soil’s health, environment and human. Students laid emphasis on going back to natural sustainable system of farming that could save the earth.

Young orators spoke about the festival’s significance and the kind of joy it brings to farming community. Senior students presented a spectacular bhangra performance that set stage on fire.

The function concluded with the speech given by the school Principal Harpreet Grewal whereing she talked about the significance of natural fertilizers and manures in agriculture practices.

“High levels of industrial and vehicular pollution have already wreaked havoc with the environment. Overuse of chemicals in agriculture has poisoned our platter and we seriously need to go back old times of farming without chemicals,” Grewal said.
